Ahead of the 11th African Congress of Shopping Centres to be held from September 13 to 15, two professionals from England Eileen Connolly and Tony Sefton have appealed that shopping centres must be used for social investment and promoted as means of mass entertainment.
The Congress, being organized by SA Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) is expected to be attended by more than 800 delegates from around the world.
According to Connolly, shopping centers change the environment where they are set up and they will definitely help in the charity work since the developer always has a noble intention of helping out the community.
She is the Chief Judge for SACSC's Footprint Award that identifies excellence in promotion of shopping centres and the entries for awards vary in quality as well as effect.
Sefton is scheduled to educate delegates on using the capacity, flow and human techniques to the shopping malls and retail units.
