Tehuacàn eco – latest victim of fashion pollution

You know what they say, 'fashion has its side effects'! Well, harming the environment is not a 'side-effect' that can be ignored!!

Yes…the latest such issue has been seen in the Mexican City, Tehuacàn. Denim manufacturing, especially distressed jeans, makes use of chemicals that pollute, both, water and land areas.

Experts explain that to make a distressed jeans companies use large quantities of bleaching potassium permanganate and other such chemicals that later adversely affect the environment.

They also say that it is not the chemicals that are used but the method and improper disposal that is alarming.
