China's cotton fabric exports surge in Feb'13

Cotton fabric exports from China increased by 45.7 percent year-on-year to 536.337 million metres in February 2013, according to customs data. However, the export quantity decreased by 33.69 percent compared to previous month.
 
In terms of value, cotton fabric export from China fetched US$ 859.436 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 48.85 percent, but down 35.20 percent on a month-on-month basis.
 
China’s total export of cotton fabric in January and February 2013 earned US$ 2.186 billion, up 41.68 percent year-on-year. In terms of volume, the exports totaled 1.345 billion metres, up 38.15 percent year-on-year.
 
According to customs statistics, China imported 40.646 million metres of cotton fabric in February 2013, decline of 39.09 percent year-on-year and 36.55 percent month-on-month. The value of imported cotton fabric was US$ 85.599 million, down 42.21 percent year-on-year and 41.1 percent month-on-month.
 
In January and February 2013, China imported 105 million metres of cotton fabric, down 3.42 percent year-on-year. In terms of value, the imports were worth US$ 231 million, down 1.82 percent year-on-year.
