Traditional woven fabric of Pahang gets a face lift

The fabric was first introduced by Bugis in 16th century. It is unique because of its traditional patterns comprising tapak catur, melintang, anak lebah, jalur berdiri and sepit udang.
Siti Azizah said that traditional fabric's development will be done through other villages, including Kampung Sungai Soi, Kampung Ketapang and Felda Cini Timur 5.
“A training centre will be set up in Pekan and we aimed to produce professional weavers to keep the textile industry flourishing,” she beamed.
