Currently, Varanasi is home to 15-day khadi exhibition started on December 23 that was inaugurated by Union Minister for Small Scale Industries (SSI), Mahavir Prasad.
Prasad encouraged manufacturers to create khadi products of international standards.
Minister, speaking at the opening ceremony of the expo, said that khadi clothes should offer fashionable designs and modern trend sop as to attract foreign customers.
“My ministry had asked the National Institute of Fashion Technology and National Institute of Handloom to prepare innovative designs for the popularity of Khadi clothes,” he said.
