According to latest data made available by the China Textile Industry Association, the output of Chinese nonwoven fabric in the first half of this year was 0.2884 million tons, up 34.20 percent compared to the same period last year.
Of this total nonwoven fabric yield, the output of Zhejiang Province was 70,773 tons, up 24.18 percent; that of Guangdong Province was 40,324 tons, up 39.54 percent. Jiangsu Province's output stood at 29,793 tons, an increase of 24.14 percent while that of Henan Province was a surprising 27,688 tons, up 1161.13 percent. Finally, the nonwoven fabric output of Fujian Province was 25,716 tons, up 28.75 percent.
Insiders said that of all the nonwoven fabric producing countries of Asia, China's output was by far the biggest. Last year, China had produced 0.222 million tons of needle-punched fabric, 41,000 tons of dry-formed fabric and 0.443 million tons of melt-blown fabric which ranked first in Asia.
Even if the output of wet-formed fabric was just 11,000 tons, its yield and market share went up considerably.
