As per a manuscript, Bisayans used to tattoo different parts of their bodies with iron and brass points heated with fire and used dyes. Tattoos were so impressive that they drew the admiration of the people who saw them.

Men used to have their bodies covered from toe to head with tattoos in bold or fine horizontal, vertical, circular and so on. Women used to tattoo only their legs, arms and hands in an elegant manner.

Early Bisayan males had a cloth made of cotton which they wore as a daily wear. It used to be a sleeveless shirt closed at the front.

Bisayan women used to wear garment and dress which consisted of wraparounds with diverse colored strips. These clothes were made of cotton or pina fibers prepared locally and the silk was bought from China.

Women were fond of jewellery and men were not left behind as they used to wear earrings, bracelets, armlets, necklaces, and even leglets.
