Just as one can lease automobiles, private jets and vacation homes — even furniture and art, designer brands can also be leased with a payment of a small membership fee or monthly payment. This trend is grabbing the wild west. California's Borrowed Bling supplies rented estate-style diamonds while New York's Bag Borrow or Steal offers designer handbags and jewelry for lease. Similarly, Albright Inc in Manhattan offers designer frocks, bags and shoes.
In India to accept this trend will take some time. Borrowing from a clothes library, in the first place, seems unhygienic and would offend Indian sensibilities.
