Khalsa College for Women stages 'Beyond Style 2007'

Students of Post-graduate Diploma in Fashion Designing of Khalsa College for Women, held a fashion show 'Beyond Style 2007' here today, as part of their course curriculum.
Ripi Chatwal, Chairperson of Nirdosh School for mentally-challenged children was the Chief Guest of function.
Innovative outfits were presented in six rounds which included lehga-choli, suits, saree's, sherwani, evening gowns by the student designers who drew inspiration from marine life, flora and fauna, waste products like, old bangles tissue papers, plastic bags and rags.
These enticing outfits were presented by student models who walked the ramp like professionals in various shades of turqoise, golden, maroon red, bright, magenta and green, with outfits embellished with stones, mirrors, ghungroos, delicate laces, sequins, tassels, floral embroidery and patterns to enhance the grace.
The creative ensemble and attractive choreography of Vicky Lamba from Chandigarh held the audience spell-bound.
Prizes were awarded to best designer Akanksha, first runner up Rajwinder and second runner up Swinky, best model Seep, best catwalk Jasmine, most charming personality to Akanksha with sincere designer Manpreet and sincere model Sony stealing the show.
Principal Dr.Varinder Kaur Thind appreciated the efforts put in by department of fashion designing and inspiring the students to heights of creativity.
