According to a Fujian Provincial Zipper Committee report, regional zipper manufacturers of Fujian Province's Jingjiang city have launched a national marketing strategy, indicating that from a regional enterprise, they were now going national.
As part of the investigation, which began on July 24, 2007, a committee delegation visited leading zipper manufacturing units like Fujian SBS Zipper Technology Co Ltd and Fookhing Group to unravel the truth.
A spokesperson from Fujian SBS said that if local zipper enterprises want to develop further, they will have to face competition by acquiring a national and international business outlook. Fujian SBS have set up two new factories — in Guangdong Province and Tianjing city. Each factory has required an investment of 100 million yuan each. However, it is estimated that a single unit would fetch additional revenue of 600 million yuan.
Likewise, Fookhing Group has set up a new factory in Shandong Province, which will begin production this year. It will also set up separate production bases in Shanghai, Beijing, Ningbo and Qingdao within three years.
