The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) recently released statistics of September 2007, which show that the country reaped a turnover of US $50 million from exports of accessories like bag, suitcase, umbrella, hats and so on. This figure represents a year–on–year growth of 35.1 percent.
This revenue contributed highly in the first nine months earnings of this year. Experts believe that Made–in–Vietnam accessories have been bale to carve a niche world consumers market.
From January to September this year, the country fetched $467 million, posting a boost of 27.2 percent in comparison to the same period 2006.
These accessories are expected to help the textile and apparel industry to hit its exports target of $7.5 billion in 2007.
