The Association of Garment and Fashion in Madrid (ASECOM) and the Business Incubator of Vallecas in Spain would co-host a prototype presentation of EUR-MODA (EUR-Fashion) project, which aims to provide vocational courses for new entrants in the European fashion industry, on September 12, 2013

The presentation of the vocational training project would be held with support from the ASECOM and project partners from Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic, the UK and Spain.

The EUR-MODA project, which is framed within the Leonardo Da Vinci program of Transfer of Innovation—a program designed for educational and vocational purposes, was selected by the European Commission from the six outstanding projects of the total 800 projects developed between 2011 and 2013.

The project seeks to standardize the professional skills required for the fashion industry, specifically to meet the training needs identified under the European organizations operating in the sector.

The project aims to develop a competence map for two specific professional profiles in the fashion industry—the fashion designer and the head of quality control.

The prototype presentation would include proposals for tailor-made courses, specifically fit for needs of the companies operating in the European fashion industry.
