After enchanting fashionistas for years with his extremely innovative collections, the well-respected English designer Paul Smith has recently launched a book, chronicling the historical growth of his highly successful career in the international fashion industry, in Hong Kong.

Released in collaboration with RCS Media Group-owned publishing house Rizzoli and London-based Design Museum, the book charts the evolution of Smith’s small bedroom-sized company into one of the leading global brands of today.

The book not only gives a sneak peek into the 67-year-old veteran’s immensely popular lines, collections and significant collaborations but also offers details about the inspirations and obsessions that have helped in shaping the lines into their present day status.

Replete with hand-drawn designs, archival photographs and behind-the-scenes images of clothing ranges, the visually rich document also includes illustrations of major creative muses, such as Martin Parr, David Bowie and Henry Moore, who have played an important role in the creative journey of the designer.

Other than the book “Hello, My Name Is Paul Smith”, the Design Museum is gearing up to host an exhibition, celebrating the rise of the quintessentially English label, with the same title, from November 15, 2013 to March 9, 2014.
