American actor and Twilight Saga film series star Kellan Lutz will be the first-ever male to don the Red Carpet Green Dress challenge’s winning ensemble at the 86th Academy Awards night on March 2, 2014.

The 28-year-old star will wear a sustainable material made tuxedo suit designed by the 23-year-old New Zealand-based young talent Jomnarn Dul, who created the outfit under the mentorship of renowned plant-dyed garment designer Jeff Garner.

Before Lutz, actresses Missi Pyle and Naomie Harris had both attended the 84th and 85th Oscar ceremonies in Red Carpet Green Dress winning gowns.

An alumnus of New Zealand’s AUT University, Dul works for the country’s local menswear brand H. Brothers.

Started by environmental advocate Suzy Amis Cameron, wife of famous film director James Cameron, the Red Carpet Green Dress is an international dress design competition which invites designers from across the world to create an Oscar worthy sustainable dresses.
