Tadashi Yanai, the CEO of Japanese brand Uniqlo, has topped Forbes magazine’s annual listing of 50 richest people in Japan.

The retail mogul, whose fortune is up by $ 3 billion due to Uniqlo’s 65 per cent international sales increase in last year, is worth $ 21.1 billion.

In 2014, Yanai implemented a strict business boosting strategy in his company by opening flagships and making 3 months of training mandatory for every new employee.

In addition to topping Forbes’ list in Japan, the 66-year old business tycoon has been also listed at number 41 in the magazine’s 2015’s listing of The World’s Billionaires.

The founder and CEO of Fast Retailing, a casualwear retail company of which Uniqlo is a wholly owned subsidiary, was listed as the second richest man of Japan last year by the same magazine. (PB)
