Shraddha of Mayank Anand Shraddha Nigam said, “For somebody like us, who come from a non-fashion background, we are humbled by the response we have received at Lakmé Fashion Week. The Talent Box show that we did was a fantastic idea which was a long awaited one for the Indian Fashion Industry. We have done some great business and are looking forward to rolling out our productions soon and in stores before the festive season starts.”
Archana Kochhar said, "This year there is a substantial increase in the product inquiry by buyers across India, say around 35 percent. And, as it was our very first pret line, it helped us reach and explore new markets. The AEPC designer - buyers meet in specific was a boon, which provided us with a platform to have an open interaction and discuss more business opportunities."
Rakhi Bhutani from Aura said, “As always we really had a great time and business at Lakmé Fashion Week and it was good to see new talent. The Gen next and emerging designers' categories were very fresh and creative and at the same time have displayed wearable clothes as well. The new concept and initiative at the source was commendable. We also had a word with lots of designers and finalized our promotion dates at both our stores in Nagpur and Raipur. We are looking forward for the next fashion week to see more new talent.”
Thilaka Paramesh from Hue said, “Lakmé Fashion Week WF 2011 has been an over whelming experience and has given buyers a platform to interact with the designers on a personal level and venture into a professional relationship. The designers we are interacting this time are J J Vallaya, Pooja Kapoor, Abhi Singh, Shashank&Prajwal, Purvi Doshi, Sonam M, Shruti Sancheti, Pallavi Goenka, Rohit Bal, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Vaishali S, Nachiket Barve, Astha Bahl, Paromita Banerjee etc. The source area that was developed made a great difference in terms of showcasing the designs by many designers. The set up was close to perfect and much spaced out compared to the last fashion week held this year at the same venue.”
Designer Shruti Sancheti, “It was a pleasure to be at the LFW WF 2011; we got a fabulous response from the buyers and ended with many new lucrative deals. Infact we had to refuse many tempting offers, keeping our production in mind. The best part was that our collection promoting the weavers of Vidharbha was well received and appreciated. Overall it was a very good experience for us and we look forward to participating in the next season.”
Buyer Nilesh Parashar of Nautanky, Ahmedabad said, “Planning this season of LFW in August was beneficial as it will help us to showcase an entirely new festive range in our stores just in time while the festive season begins in India. Ramp to rack in 45 days gave us admirable business during Summer/Resort 2011, since the collections were fresh in the minds of our target audience that they saw on the ramp. We are getting ready to hold some designer collection previews at our stores soon, since most of the orders would be in by late September –early October and perfectly in time for the beginning of the Festive season.”
