“Retarded Velvet” by Theresa James and Roger Prince went down a new road by focusing more on individual pieces in their collection than the entire look at The Talent Box at Lakme Fashion Week.

A bold move, from a bold label and it left the audience wanting more.

The collection had a lot of western silhouettes such as printed leggings, jumpsuits, dresses, free flowing jackets with intriguing prints in a pop art style.

Keeping their cuts fluid and simple; the designers played with prints such as rupee notes, temples, the iconic Amul dairy girl logo among other unique ever day symbols which gave their collection a fresh and fun appeal.

Made of fabrics such as jersey, silk and featherweight chambray the outfits were just as wearable as they were gorgeous. The colours were aptly named 'citrus sensational' and consisted of lime greens, bright yellows and pops of red.

A piece that stood out was an Amar Chitra Katha dress which would be the perfect outfit for a different take on cocktail party wear. Be it the fashion conscious buyer or those looking for trendy wearable outfits, “Retarded Velvet” by Theresa James and Roger Prince had much to offer this season.
