It was the romance and glory of the city of Prague that enchanted Isha and Nitin Kartikeya of Dozakh enough to call their collection “Koffee with Kafka” at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012.
Using intricate tonal embroidery on a grand back drop like chiffon and silk, the designing duo ensured that their utterly feminine creations revealed their inspiration on the ramp.
What took one's breadth away were the beautifully executed French Knots craft used to embellish the creations along with the magnificent haunting prints, which were splashed on the garments. Layering took centre stage for most garments which is the signature style of this pair, but it was elegantly executed to create a timeless appeal.
Digital prints for bodysuits and the gorgeous lace appliqués, which appeared on the garments at strategic places, or as a cummerbunds were the highlight of the show. Colours were muted with dusty brown, white, giving way to moss green, chutney, shades of deep fuchsia and red/black ombré tones to finally stark black. The silhouettes were lean and elegant with the side looped hemlines appearing for midis and gowns.
The draped lungi styles were added to the slender cocktail creations and the overall effect of the collection was one of gentle beauty and grace, with a discreet touch of glitter and embellishments. For fashionistas who appreciate the beauty of craft and culture, Isha and Nitin Kartikeya of Dozakh have got some timeless fashion options from their collection “Koffee with Kafka”.
