“Lights, Camera, Fashion”, announced Arpan Vohra at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 and the ramp came alive with a visual spectacle of colours as seen through the spectrum of lights. Visions in pink, white, black, beige and dull metallic gold glided down under the arc lights.

The wonderful fashion era of the ‘60s was recreated as lace and gold were designed into corset style silhouettes for dresses and jumpsuits. The added cut outs as insets were the sensuous detailing for the garments.

Bringing in the perforated camera role effect for the apparel, which had hints of stripes, the look dreamt up by Arpan was sexy yet demure, with a marked sporty touch.

It was silver screen glamour meant for the diva of fashion, as the white tulle sari with shimmering colours created the light effect. The sexy stretch fabrics moulded to the models’ bodies were ideal for the neon pink pencil dress, the boat neck lean creation and colour blocked halter outfit.

The effect of chiffon over crepe for the tube gown and the striped black and white maxi had that old world charm. The perforated effect gave the garments that teasing negative/positive quality; while the all black line of lacy minis, gowns and the final gold metallic look with lavish bugle bead work were ideal Red Carpet offerings.

The beautifully crafted white, gold and black platforms perfectly matched the mood of the collection.

For women who desire the look of a favourite silver screen stars; Arpan Vohra has all the fashion action in his collection.
