His aim is to bring elegant organic garments to the world and Daniel Syiem succeeded with his wonderful ethnic collection called “Ryindia” at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013.

It was the beautiful textiles of Meghalaya that formed the basis of Daniel’s intriguing line.

Blending in modern trends with hand woven fabrics, the range was a perfect New Age offering to the discerning buyers.

The use of traditional craft with western shapes added to the international appeal of the garments; while clean cuts and simple styling further highlighted the appeal of the clothes.

Draped togas in swirling volumes, cascades for tunics over wide trousers, one shoulder dresses, halters with sexy long slit skirts and wrap blouses were in shades of ivory and beige silks.

Crochet gave an interesting touch to the cowl backs while the daily apparel of the Khasis - the Jainsem and the dainty jainkyrshah was turned into modern feminine wear. The traditional dharma with the unique embroidery was a final offering ideal for formal wear.

The North East of India has amazing textiles and Daniel Syiem brought the glory of that region to the forefront in an elegant and stylish manner with his “Ryindia” creations.
