Sayantan Sarkar presented a fiery kaleidoscopic collection named ‘Status Duo’ at the Talent Box during Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013.

Inspired by the idea to have resort wear, which is comfortable and relaxed, as well as edgy and upbeat; this range aimed to bridge the gap between masculinity and femininity.

Using intriguing wearable fabrics such as cottons, muls and linens, the line comprised jackets, shirts, kurtas, tunics and trousers aimed at a metro sexual man who is more a character than a gender stereotype and isn’t afraid to experiment, stylishly.

The colour palette started with pop tones such as canary yellow, emerald, teal and coral to touches of brown, vermilion and ink, while grey, maroon and earthy tones gave a balanced look. Patterns stayed on the batik, block and screen print path to give variety to the collection.

With motifs such as transforming fish to birds taking flight as well as a clever juxtapose of structure over drape, this collection by Sayantan Sarkar is just what a modern street smart Prince Charming would have in his wardrobe!
