If the mysteries of the ocean fascinate the global dresser, then “Dip, Dip, Dip, My Sunken Ship”- a quirkily titled collection by Yogesh Choudhary at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 will satisfy the requirements.

Inspired by the beauty of underwater life and ecology, Yogesh brought it to the surface of his creations with cuts, prints and textures.

Creating resort wear for his muse - the fictitious ‘Surendri’ woman, there were cute dresses for the beach, while others were ideal for work and some more were meant for the day.

The anatomical forms of sea life appeared as trims and motifs, to highlight the garments. Adding his particular touches for accessories, Yogesh showed severe corset belts, trendy hats and very innovative jewellery to match the looks.

Opening the show were three sexy swimsuits in aqua prints with strategic cut-outs.

Soon Yogesh added saris in orange with the blue fish prints, an asymmetric layered skirt and cropped top and a sheath with a knit yoke in the same print, cinched with a metallic Obi belt.

Large fish prints highlighted summer dresses, kaftans and saris. The glitter was brought in by silver metallic horizontal stripes that worked magic for the saris, minis and even appeared as fish motifs on jackets, kurtas, pants and shirts.

On the beach or in the sea, Yogesh Choudhary had a line that will turn women into stylish aqua queens.
