Featuring a collection called “The Tourist” aimed at the global jet setter – the stage set was an airport terminal and very apt for the striking line-up of apparel. The predominantly soft pastel range with touches of earthy tones, had splashes of colours to highlight the garments.
The important colour story was sober, ideal for the corporate head honcho - male or female. Slate grey, navy, tinted yellow and dusty pink was the perfect choice.
Fabrics that will stand the rigours of the fast paced life of the busy executives, had to be cotton chambray, satin, twill, poly foma, washed linen, Lycra and silk. With all this aimed at comfort, the silhouettes were crisply constructed with hints of trims, subtle layering and some discreet hand embroidery.
Women’s wear was restricted to pencil skirts and sheath dresses, with a few jersey blouses, draped dresses, a stylish will-power black sheath with buttis, peplum top, engineered sheath jersey draped gowns and jumpsuits.
Men’s wear was strictly business wear – two-button single breast jackets or double breast styles. Pin dots and motifs were seen on jackets or full suits. Trousers were fitted, cowl, Bermudas, occasionally wide and at times ankle length. Waistcoats, draped T- shirts, cross over vests, monogrammed blazers, draped knit kurtas, stylish sherwanis, long coats and lots of bandhgala for easy comfort completed the look.
As the showstopper, the very gorgeous, Bipasha Basu Bollywood’s sexy heroine and fitness expert, dazzled in a stunning black knit deep “V” neck, fitted gown with flowing kimono sleeves.
The very dynamic collaboration of Reliance Trends with Shantanu and Nikhil will create great fashion synergy with the latest collection and offer the fashion conscious around the country, the choicest pick of stylish clothes.
