Daniel Syiem’s label showcased a new collection titled ‘Ka Tlang’, a line of garments inspired by the dream-like fairytale winters of Shillong for this season at The Talent Box during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.

Working on exquisite, luxurious hand-woven organic fabrics ‘Ryndia’ and ‘Tapmohkhlieh’ exclusive to the North-East region of India, specifically Meghalaya, for an ethnic connection, this range showcased a unique mix of jackets, shift dresses, fitted short wraps, skirts, coats and tunics, fusing modern clean-cut silhouettes in the process.

Although simple in design, each piece was accentuated by unique cuts, fabrics fraying, layering, timeless original check prints, sleeve detailing and dramatic cuts to individual pieces.

In easy to wear shades such as beige, grey, ochre, saffron, indigo, brick and wood along with brighter tones such as poster blue and coral, for an added flair, the designer kept his creations modest yet youthfully charming.

Artistic and wearable with a natural feel, Daniel Syiem’s Ethnic Fashion House’s collection, ‘Ka Tlang’ is sure to fly off the racks.
