Sounia Gohil’s collection for Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014 at Jabong Stage beautifully merged fashion with fiction and art with architecture.

The range titled ‘La Bella Donna’ comprised structured tops, skirts, gowns, dresses, pants and sheer cover-ups in luxurious and stylish fabrics like cotton, net and lace.

Fresh, edgy beach inspired shades of lilac, pistachio green, icy blue, ivory and cream helped give the collection a royal Indian traditional tone, and balanced out the western silhouettes.

Staying true to the European Renaissance theme of the collection, the designer made sure that each piece was distinctive in cut, colour or form as she worked with textures to further fuel the international –Indian contemporary feel of her collection.

Focusing on feminine elegance, the designer stuck to lightly contoured forms like pencil skirts layered and embellished with arches, beads, crystals, glittering pillars and bright digital prints of European decor.

The showstopper was none other than actress Richa Chadda, star of the blockbuster “Ram Leela” who graced the runway in a gorgeous sleek gown with a double layered skirt and printed top.

Classy and cool, graceful and glamorous; Sounia Gohil’s collection ‘La Bella Donna’ was just the range to give a woman’s wardrobe a fashionable makeover.
