The event presents itself as a four-day interactive expo - featuring around 100 stands flanked by two fashion arenas, which showcase the collections of established and new designers. The actual exhibition will feature the full spectrum of fashion sectors, including educators to the fashion industry. This fusion of fashion shows with an exhibition and specialised seminar happening simultaneously makes SA Fashion Week a unique experience that no serious fashionista could afford to miss.
SA Fashion Week was find (9 years ago) out of a need to showcase the abundance of fashion talent that was going unnoticed in South Africa. Last year SAFW was significant for two reasons: firstly, SA fashion design came of age and, secondly, SA business saw for the first time a viable industry developing.
