NIFT to design workwear uniforms for Gujarat Petroleum

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has designed a new assignment for its students where they will fashion work-wear uniforms for Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC).
Currently, the institute is researching the GSPC that is expected to take around six months.
Formalwear and business clothing segment in Gujarat is underdeveloped and unexplored.
Vishal Gupta, Associate Professor and Co-ordinator of the Fashion, Lifestyle and Accessories Department, explained to the media, “While the bigger business houses of the country are serious about who designs their employees' uniform and attach their brand value to it, such an approach has so far not gained currency in the state. However, considering the presence of pan India corporates in the state, customised design is topmost in our plans to showcase in-house designing talents.“
