From January 12-16 buyers came, saw and bought at California Market Center's LA Fashion Market. Retailers such as Nordstrom, Kitson, Dillards, Metropark, Tootsies, Blue, Atmosphere and thousands more attended to shop the latest looks for summer '07. Coinciding with the LA Fashion Market was Focus on 3, a selection of temporary exhibitors featuring women's updated apparel, as well as the Transit shoe show, which was extended to a three day show, running from January 13-15.
“We were pleased overall with the market,” said John Kim, General Manager of the California Market Center. “We feel that this LA Fashion Market appealed to retailers because of all the new resources we have added to the building.” Sue Bhanubandh, Director of Leasing for the Contemporary Floor saw a reenergized floor this market thanks in part to the many new resources and enhanced market promotions on the fifth floor.
“Everyone had a very positive attitude this market and the entire fifth floor worked together in an unprecedented manner. We feel that the teamwork we saw this market sets a great tone of what's to come in March.”
The LA Fashion Market kicked off with a grand opening party on Friday, January 12 that featured music, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Retailer amenities such as gourmet pastries and coffee, as well as wine and hors d'oeuvres were served on the fifth floor each day of the market. Jennifer Cohen, President of 1060 Sherman, was very pleased with the floor promotions.
“The floor promotions have raised the bar this market on what buyers can expect from our market. The organic catering, fine wines, gourmet cheeses and hospitality suites were all a huge hit with my buyers.”
