The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the apex body for the Indian fashion industry, today announced the appointment as Advisor, of Ms Krishna Sahai. Apart from advising the Council on its day to day functioning, she will provide strategic direction to the Council as it consolidates and promotes the interests of the Fashion industry in the country.
Ms Sahai comes to the FDCI after a highly distinguished career in the Indian Revenue Service, with assignments in the Finance Ministry, the Ministry of Surface Transport and the National Institute of Fashion Technology.
During her tenure at NIFT she strengthened the Institute's links with the Indian garment industry, sharpened the focus on greater interface between fashion academia and the marketplace to make it relevant and contemporary to this industry's requirements.
