California Market Center to host several fashion shows

Thousands of buyers eager to view the latest trends for Fall 2007 will visit the California Market Center (CMC) from March 23-27 for one of the most highly anticipated fashion events of the year, the March LA Fashion Market.
For the first time in fashion history, all of the apparel buildings will ban together for a star-studded, grand opening market week party where special guest Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will make a major announcement regarding his economic goals for the LA Fashion District and receive a key to the LA Fashion District.
The CMC will host several fashion shows throughout the Market for the first time from famous designers Yana K, Carilyn Vaile and Directive's West, featuring Single.
“This is one of the largest line-up of events to date for the LA Fashion Market,” said Joanne Lee, Director of Tradeshows and Events for the California Market Center.
On March 23, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., the LA Fashion District, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and thousands of industry heavyweights such as Chip and Pepper, Tarina Tarantino, Adriano Goldschmeid (ABS), Robert Rodriguez, Paul Guez (Yanuk Denim, Antik Denim), Walter, Dick Cantrell (Hard Tail), Yana K, Trina Turk, Pamela Protzel (Ella Moss), Yael Alfalo (YA YA), Glenn Kay (Mandalay), Carilyn Vaile, Allen Schwartz (ABS), and many more will ban together on the California Market Center's front patio and lobby for LA Fashion Market's grand opening party.
At 6:00 p.m., the Mayor will receive a key to the Fashion District from Rosanne Karmes, famous designer of the jewelry line, Sydney Evan, and then make an announcement in regards to the city's five-year goals.
