Biz buzzes at California Market Center's fall/holiday fashion market

Business was bustling at California Market Center's Fall/ Holiday Fashion Market, which concluded after five busy days. Thousands of retailers such as Intuition, Kitson, American Rag Co., Metropark, Nordstrom, Oooh La La, Ice Accessories, E Street Denim, Dillards, Cache, Anthropologie, Ron Herman, Tootsies, Zappos and Scoop filled the marketplace to shop the latest Holiday '07 styles.

Showing tremendous growth this Market were the categories of men's contemporary, which saw a 20% increase in retailer attendance, women's denim at 9% and women's young contemporary, which saw a dramatic increase of 40% in retailer attendance.

“We were very pleased with the overall turnout of this Market,” said Joanne Lee, Director of CMC Services. “Many tenants reported that despite the fact that June is typically a smaller Market, they opened many new accounts and had stronger sales than last June.”

The CMC's Main Lobby was the place to be On Friday, June 8, 2007. Retailers dined on Parisian themed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while watching informal modeling at the California Market Center and 1060 Sherman's grand opening party. The event drew over 200 guests, which included top specialty store and department store chains.

Running in conjunction with the LA Fashion Market was CMC's TRANSIT shoe show. From June 9-11 the TRANSIT show welcomed hundreds of exhibitors such as Jeffrey Campbell, Donald J. Pliner, Roxy, Steve Madden, Jump, Dolce Vita, Jessica Simpson, BCBG Girls, Bass Shoe Co. and Dollhouse. New to the TRANSIT was K-Swiss, STACKS, GC-NY and Michael Toschi.
