The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) is pleased to announce the appointment of SATRA Chief Executive Richard Turner to the AAFA Board of Directors.
Turner succeeds Dr. Ron Whittaker, who retired last month after 38 years with SATRA, serving the last 16 years as its Chief Executive.
Located in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England, SATRA is the world's leading research and technology centre of its kind and employs more than 180 scientific, technical and support staff across two sites in the UK and a China office.
Through an exclusive partnership, SATRA services are available to AAFA footwear member companies. AAFA Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Carole Hochman Design Group Peter J. Gabbe said, “Many footwear company members rely on SATRA's renowned research and problem-solving abilities to make investment decisions, Richard Turner will bring that same kind of excellence to his service on the Board of Directors.”
AAFA President & CEO Kevin M. Burke welcomed Turner's addition to the Board, remarking, “To have Richard Turner on the association's Board will benefit not only the industries we represent, but I believe he will find many opportunities for himself and SATRA as well as we all work and learn together.”
