The 2007 Minerva Dinner will be held in the splendid rooms of St. James's Palace on the 22nd October 2007. The Chartered Society of Designers is greatly honoured that its Patron, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, has agreed to attend and present the Minerva Medal.

This year the Minerva Medal is being awarded to Lord Rogers of Riverside in recognition of his outstanding achievements in urban design and architecture. Deyan Sudjic OBE, Director of the Design Museum, will give the oration.

This is a prestigious event and a once in a lifetime opportunity to dine amidst the splendour of the palace built in 1532 by Henry VIII.

Guests will enjoy a champagne reception in Queen Anne's Room followed by dinner in The Picture Gallery surrounded by many fine paintings by artists such as: Reynolds, Mytens, Holbein, Benedetto Gennari and Lely, wall coverings by Morris, interiors by Wren and a display of armour rescued from the Mary Rose.

The indulgence in good food and wine is enhanced by the indulgence in the history of the Picture Gallery which hosted such events as the India Round Table Conference, attended by Mahatma Ghandi, and the Palestine Conference - the collapse of which resulted in the foundation of the State of Israel.
