10th Certificate Award Ceremony of IIGJ, Mumbai

Consequently students should undertake number of courses before taking assignments in the industry. Our endeavour is to obtain university status once all these Institutes are set up in India under GJEPC.

Chairman advised students to try and make the maximum use of the facilities available at IIGJ. He also mentioned that IIGJ has trained more than 1773 students, two new courses have started Gem testing & Corel draw and some more new courses are in the offing.

Mr.Colin P Shah, Managing Director, Kama Jewellery India Pvt Ltd, gave an enlightened talk and words of encouragement to the passed out students. He gave his personal example, that there are three key things to success.
(a) Ambition
(b) Hardwork
(c) Attention to details.

As an entrepreneur one has to have patience and there is no reason for you not to succeed. As regards designers are concerned they need to possess the following qualities to be successful as a designer.
(a) Good hand
(b) Concept
(c) Corel draw
(d) Strong technical knowledge.

He encouraged the young and talented minds to develop passion for work which is a key to success.After an inspirational talk he gave the students an opportunity to ask questions.

It was indeed a unique award ceremony in which a young , dynamic and inspiring Chief Guest who started his career at the age of seventeen and made his company the largest in Asia.

Mr. Colin Shah has recently won the “Emerging India Award 2007” presented by Prime Minister Shri. Manmohan Singh in Delhi in June. He has also received award for the largest exporter of studded jewellery outside SEEPZ by GJEPC for two consecutive years.

At the end Mr. Amarnath gave the vote of thanks and congratulated Ms. Tejal Trivedi for presenting her amazing designs and appreciated the efforts of the Management for bringing up IIGJ to high standard for the benefit of Industry. Now IIGJ is fully meeting requirements of skilled professional for the Industry in a big way.
