When the title is “The Yellow Journal” it has got nothing to do with the print media but this one surprisingly had everything to do with a fashion collection. Vikramjit Choudhury's creations had this unusual name for the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2010 show but the designer revealed that it was the inspiration of past chronicles that got him thinking.

So the colour scheme matched with black and yellow with a touch of emerald and cream and lots of prints which had that distinct romantic touch. There were beautifully embellished jackets, lots of dresses in superb silk, mul, chiffon, satin and velvet and to stay true to the theme there was fine vintage lace which added to the beauty of the garments.

The embroidery was lush floral and rose motifs on varying fabric textures while the prints matched the mood of the line. With yellow and black with emerald and cream the colours worked well for the collection.

Starting with sequined racer back vest and long printed cotton silk skirt, Vikramjit moved to corded and embroidered printed jacket, raglan sleeved zippered dress, double breasted jacket with the same treatment, all quilted satin and pleated noile trouser with chiffon shirt and tie up collar. The end was with a cotton printed maxi with silk skirt and printed embellished jacket.

For some interesting fashion that one can translate for any occasion “The Yellow Journal” collection by Vikramjit Choudhury will be the perfect choice.
