A classic example of art-meets-fashion will be reiterated through the newly formed collaborative venture between the noted British fashion brand Alexander McQueen and well-known English artist Damien Hirst.

The London-based label has roped in the talented art expert to create a limited-edition 30-piece scarf collection to mark the tenth anniversary of the former’s ubiquitous skull-print scarves.

A re-adaptation of Hirst’s famous ‘Entomology’ series, the ensembles will feature butterflies, bugs, spiders and other creepy crawlies printed geometrically into McQueen’s skull shapes.

Scheduled to be available in McQueen boutiques and alexandermcqueen.com from mid-November, 2013 onwards, the pieces will be made from luxe materials like chiffon, pongé, twill and cashmere.

McQueen’s signature skull-print scarves were first introduced by the brand’s late eponymous founder, Alexander McQueen, as part of the spring/summer 2003 collection.

Bristol-born 48-year-old Damien Hirst’s Entomology series showcases a range of colourful insects woven into a kaleidoscopic artwork.
