HMV Group, the renowned music retailer will be stepping into fashion by selling several clothing brands through its stores in UK, from coming month. It will launch various fashion brands, including, Boxfresh, Lee Jeans, FLY53, Rocawear and Eastpak from September 1.
The music retailer group that primarily sells CDs and DVDs will house clothing range, including, men's tops, t-shirts, shirts, jackets and jeans, in its 38 big retail stores, including, stores in London's Oxford Street, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Southampton, Cardiff, Glasgow, Belfast and Dublin.
This clothing range will be showcased in dedicated in-store departments of the group branded as 'The Studio'. Small sized HMV stores will house a limited range of t-shirts and around 280 stores of the group will have some fashion offer.
The group stocks licensed products like artist t-shirts by manufacturer Bravado, and the new lines are intended to introduce fashion inspired by bands and music artists. On a preliminary basis, the group is focusing on a younger, 'festival chic' market.
