English fashion designer Matthew Williamson has partnered with the Italy-based cashmere company Ballantyne to design a capsule knitwear collection.

Inspired by British heritage, the soon-to-be-released brightly coloured collection will feature separate men’s as well as women’s ranges with 10 cashmere pieces for each.

The exquisite line is slated to be unveiled at the ongoing Paris Menswear Fashion Week and later sometime during the Milan Fashion Week in February 2013.

Produced in Italy and Scotland, the cashmere pieces will be available for sale from July 2013 onwards.

Forty one-year-old Williamson runs his own eponymous fashion house and is a regular at London Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week runways.

Founded in 1921, Ballantyne is one of the world's finest manufacturers of cashmere sweaters and knitwear.
