Inspired from various sources like sunsets in Japanese anime and ethnic Dinka corsetry, the lines have been designed by Katungulu Mwendwa, Sunny Dolat, Kepha Maina, Nick Ondu, Blackbird, Wambui Mukenyi, Sheila Amolo and Ruth Abade.

Designer Sunny Dolat’s Fall/Winter 2013 menswear collection titled Sunseekers features a delightful amalgamation of rich oriental and northern European styled textiles. Infused with macho strong shouldered silhouettes, the transcontinental line features chequered jackets, fitted shirts, scarves and trousers in orange, pink, green, white and nude shades.

Inspired by dusk blossoms, Wambui Mukenyi’s Moon Flower line showcases a variety of playfully appalling and saucily demure ethnic gowns and prêt-a-porter pieces. Decorated with embroidered panels, shiny sequins and crystals, the feminine ensembles are based on a bright palette of orange, purple and blue.

The promotional videos of the collections have been directed by Dan Muchina, Jim Chuchu and Mbithi Masya.
