The much awaited first look of the debut autumn-winter 2013 campaign from American designer Alexander Wang for the Parisian fashion house Balenciaga is finally being unveiled.

Shot by the New York-based photographer Steven Klein, the advertisement images, touched with a cinematic hint, feature the androgynous 1990’s model Kristen McMenamy as the new face of the brand.

Replete with a mysterious yet sophisticated vibe, the campaign shows the 46-year-old American model posing in the latest garments and accessories designed by the label’s newly appointed creative director Wang.

Currently owned by the French multinational company Kering, the fashion house Balenciaga was founded in 1914 by Spain’s Basque region-born designer Cristóbal Balenciaga.

Born in San Francisco, California, the 29-year-old Taiwanese-American Wang is an alumnus of Parsons The New School for Design, New York.
