World’s-renowned haute couture brand Valentino has recently launched a collection, specifically targeted towards the fast growing Chinese luxury consumer market.

Titled as Shanghai Collection, the line was unveiled at a lavish catwalk stage, adorned with futuristic skyscrapers and boats, in Shanghai, the largest city in China.

Available for sale at the label’s newly opened flagship store in the city, the 82-piece collection includes a range of prêt-à-porter, accessories as well as 22 haute couture ensembles.

Decorated with flowers, lace, studs and camouflage patterns, the rock ’n’ roll vibe-infused pieces were based on Valentino’s signature colour red.

Designed under the aesthetic guidance of the label’s creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, the collection will be internationally launched sometime in April, 2014, and would be sold through the company’s outlets in New York, Paris and Rome.

Founded in 1959, Valentino is headquartered in Milan.
