Nicola Formichetti, the Italian-Japanese fashion director, editor and designer, has created a spring collection for his casualwear label Nicopanda.

Inspired from the streetwear styles of Japan’s Harajuku sub-culture mixed with classy down town New York fashions, the 70-piece line features athletic-influenced unisex pieces.

Detailed with cute bows, pearls and ruffles, the youthful range is made using mesh lace, tulles and neoprene fabrics.

The pieces include T-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts and caps in white, baby pink and black colours.

Other than owning his own fashion label, the multi-faceted personality also works as stylist for Lady Gaga and is the current creative helm of the Italian clothier Diesel. In the past, the 37-year-old has frequently collaborated with brands like Uniqlo (Japan) and Thiery Mugler (France).

Founded in 1978, Diesel is known for luxury and pret-a-porter clothing aimed exclusively at the young adult market. (PB)
