India’s ace couturier Varun Bahl has collaborated with Raymond to create an exclusive collection using Raymond jacketing fabrics.

The suave collection features about thirty looks for menswear and around four couture pieces for womenswear, and has extensive detailing on exotic fabrics such as tweed, and pure cashmere, according to a press release.

The new collection was launched recently at an event in Chandigarh. Actor Kunal Kapoor walked down the ramp as the showstopper for the collection.

Speaking about this special collaboration during the launch, Varun Bahl said, “Raymond is a brand that has long been synonymous with luxe quality fabrics. The collection I have designed for Raymond’s show is for today’s fashionable and contemporary man, it has extensive intricacies.”

Bahl said he has incorporated various textures, bold checks and colours on exotic fabrics, lending the look a very vintage yet contemporary feel. “The jacketing fabrics are diverse in selection as well as trendy and versatile, making them an absolute delight to work with,” he added.

Sanjay Behl, chief executive officer of Raymond, said, “Our new jacketing range is unique and significantly superior in terms of product quality and design innovation incorporating latest international trends in fashion and lifestyle segment.”

He was confident that the new wide jacketing range from Raymond will not only delight the core jacket uses but also help the company expand the market, especially in North India where there is already a tremendous uptake for tweed jackets.

“On back of huge segment potential for growth, we expect to double our volumes in this forthcoming season,” said Behl. (RKS)
