Maroubra surfer Koby Abberton had narrowly escaped a jail term when he was convicted for lying to police to cover his brother Jai. Now he has launched fashion brand 'My Brother's Keeper' and is riding the multi-billion dollar surfwear wave.

He tries to steer his would-be-customers through his scrape with the law and how it has served to enforce the ideology by which he lives rest of his life.

Abberton got into trouble with the law and was facing a 14-year jail term, all for not telling about his brother, although he confesses he knew nothing about him.

He explains that My Brother's Keeper is a fashion label for all those who are their respective brother's custodians. Abberton asserts that he doesn't want to make millions from the label, but wants soldiers to wear them and feel proud.

In addition to his plans to market the label internationally, the pro surfer has enlisted the services of model mate Cheyenne Tozzi and Hollywood star Russell Crowe.

But some critics opine that he is trying to capitalize on the criminal conviction. Abberton negates these claims, clarifying that he has undergone much anguish and feels there are millions of people out there who would stand-in for their brothers and he wants such people to wear and symbolize his brand.
