The trend of selling private label consumer goods and increase in the profit by 60 percent, in the Romanian market, has attracted the major retailers like French hypermarket operator Cora, Carrefour group and a few others to enter the race with other major retailers.

Private labels are a precise aspect of modern retail, which is in full swing in Romania.

The French hypermarket - Cora strategised to wrap their entire significant product with the Winny label. By the next year Carrefour group will penetrate textile segment with its own label, Tex, which is already operating in the foreign outlets. By taking the newest trend into consideration, Auchan, the company, decided to introduce its own products in the market.

By creating their own labels, trader aspire the consumer's reliability. These self labeled brands are the low-priced in the store, as well as they are well promoted on the shelves.
