Boston attracts upscale fashion retailers & designers

Boston is about to become the hub for high end stores. Several upscale retailers and designers have identified Boston's Wrentham Village as part of their future expansion plans.

The American fashion designer Michael Kors will be opening an outlet at the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets in April. The 3,400-square-foot outlet will carry women's clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories from the designer.

Other new outlets like Nine West Apparel will open in May displaying women's clothing, handbags and accessories.

Hot Topic, a punk and rock inspired store which sells clothing and accessories, is planning to target the teens is also set to debut early next month.

A Footworks Outlet, Gymboree Outlet for children and a Royal Doulton china, crystal and gift store will open there.

At the Natick Collection, a new JCPenney store with nearly 200,000-square-foot area will sell clothing, home merchandise and furniture in the Plano, Texas, chain's latest format.

In addition to Lambertson Truex, a contemporary luxury accessories brand, upscale retailers Me&Ro and Jill Stuart are considering Boston as a location for new stores.
