Uniqlo lines up strategies to succeed in UK

Japanese clothing company Uniqlo plans to increase its sales in UK.

Chief Executive Tadashi Yanai has planned new flagship stores in London and New York during next year to boost brand recognition.

For supply chain improvement, factories in the EU and the United States will be set up. Presently most Uniqlo clothes are made in China.

Uniglo has 703 franchised and managed outlets in Japan, nine in China, four in Korea, three in America, one in Hong Kong including eight stores in UK.

Fast Retailing has planned to invest (¥300bn-¥400) £1.4 billion to £1.9 billion on acquisitions during next three to four years to become a global retailer.

The company has two branches in Central London, selling company's casual clothing while its other branches are in Surrey, Kent and Richmond, Bromley.
