Clothing company Hennes & Mauritz AB announces that with the 2006 World Cup finals looming in Germany, H&M's design team has put together a World Cup collection that's really on the ball fashion-wise. The collection comprises of clothing and accessories for babies, children, teenagers and men.
"Up to now there has been a lack of stylish garments and accessories with a football theme. We know that many of our customers are interested in both fashion and football and we think that fashion-oriented football supporters too should be able to feel trendy during this summer's World Cup," says H&M's Head of Design Margareta van den Bosch.
The garments and accessories inspired by the competing nations have been designed with a "retro" element. The slightly trendier teenage range includes cool T-shirts with the latest cuts and different prints, vests for both boys and girls, caps, badges, flip-flops, bags etc. For her there's also a fashionable bikini collection with hipster bottoms and triangular bikini tops.
The men's collection is more along classic lines with T-shirts, vests, underwear, flip-flops, caps and sweat-bands. And for babies H&M have brought out a range of smart bodysuits with cropped legs, T-shirts and caps. There are pretty sleeveless dresses for girls and for boys T-shirts and vests with matching shorts, along with underwear and accessories.
The collection will be in the majority of stores in all 22 of H&M's markets in Europe and North America from the middle of May.
