Leading specialty apparel chain with 537 stores New York & Company Inc announced net income for the second quarter ended July 29, 2006 of $6.5 million, or $0.11 per diluted share.
Net sales for the second quarter of fiscal year 2006 increased 4.0 percent to $264.9 million, as compared to $254.6 million in the second quarter of fiscal year 2005. Comparable store sales for the second quarter decreased 4.0 percent, compared to a 0.4 percent increase in the prior year quarter.
New York & Company, founded in 1918, is a leading specialty retailer of fashion-oriented, moderately-priced women's apparel. The Company's proprietary branded New York & Company merchandise is sold exclusively through its national network of retail stores.
