Off-price retailer Filene's Basement opens in Hunt Valley

Filene's Basement currently operates 26 stores in Boston, Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Columbus, New York, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C., and has its headquarters in Burlington, Mass.
The store is an off-price retailer specializing in designer and famous maker fashion apparel for men and women, plus fine jewelry, luggage, decorative home goods and fragrances. Besides the Hunt Valley location, Filene's Basement will open stores in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, in suburban Philadelphia and Cleveland, and in Levittown, New York by the end of 2006.
